I grew up on the Southside of Chicago. I started baking at the age of 13. My mother pulled me into the kitchen to make sweet potato pies for Thanksgiving and my love for cooking ignited. Over the years,  I began cooking, grilling, plating, trying different things, watching several cooking shows. In 2020 I decided to attend culinary school but the pandemic forced me to pivot. That didn't stop me! I received my Servsafe certificate, got licensed and insured and connected with some amazing chefs that showed me the ropes. In 2021,  I began running my business as Chef Yorell.
